Dwayne Johnson will reprise his role as Luke Hobbs from the "Fast and Furious" trilogy.
The idea was revealed by Universal Pictures on Thursday. Chris Morgan, a frequent "Fast and Furious" collaborator, penned the script for the unnamed movie. The new film will connect the events of the recently released "Fast X" with the impending "Fast X: Part II," which is anticipated in 2025, according to people familiar with the transaction, though plot details were not immediately available. In a "Fast X" credits scene, Johnson recently made an appearance as Hobbs, a diplomat security service agent.
